They aim to achieve this goal by using many different fabrics and combining different fabrics to create the desired results.

Standing in front of a hosiery rack at the store can be quite intimidating if you haven’t bought hosiery in a while. There are so many different brands, each with their own variations made with the latest fabric. They are made to control, contour, hide, soften and protect your shape. They also strive to provide comfort. Each of the different fabrics provides a different effect

Cotton

Cotton is the ultimate in comfort. It is soft and is derived from a plant. It is versatile and long lasting. By adding cotton to a bend of fabrics to make hosiery, it is possible to make it comfortable for everyday wear.

Wool

Made from animal hair, wool is warm, attractive and keeps its shape. Wool is perfect for cooler weather conditions. It keeps the moisture away from your skin. It also gives a more distinguished look. Used in combination with several other materials it can achieve the desired effect of wearing hosiery.

Silk

The nice thing about silk is that it adjusts to your body temperature. It is able to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so it can be worn year round. It is a fine, natural fiber that provides luxurious comfort. It feels good to the touch and lies nicely. It is not a versatile fabric though. Several fabrics should be blended with silk for a good pair of hosiery. Read the rest of this entry »

The History of Valentines Day

St. Valentines day has its origins in the pagan customs of the third or fourth century BC and coincides with the Fertility Festival of Ancient Rome, over time the festival was Christianised and became a festival in celebration of love rather than lust.

In 1537 King Henry VIII decreed by Royal Charter that all of England would celebrate Saint Valentines Day on February 14 and most of the world now celebrates the day by exchanging cards and tokens of affection. Of course one of the most common gifts to give your lover on Valentines day is jewelry.

Why you should buy your lover jewelry!

Valentine’s Day is approaching, and you have no idea what to get your special someone. Choosing Eyeglasses

eyeglassesWhen looking for the perfect pair of eyeglasses, there is one main factor you should look for; how well they will look on your face. When you are looking for the right pair of eyeglasses, most people will normally try on every pair possible in order to judge which is best for them, but what if you could narrow down your search before you even step foot in the eyeglass store? Now you can. Simply determine your face shape and coloring and you will be able to establish which shape and eyeglass color will fit you best. Choosing the correct eyeglass frame for your face shape can be as simple as following the three keys that the Vision Council of America (VCA) has set forth in their Envision Yourself Program. These three keys are as follows: The frame shape should contrast well with the face shape, the frame size should be in scale with the face size and eyewear should repeat your personal best feature (such as a light color frame to match blonde hair). There are seven basic face shapes according to the VCA and when you can fully understand which shape your face falls under, you will be one step closer to determining your perfect pair of eyeglasses. The seven face shapes are: base-down triangle, base-up triangle, diamond, round, square, oval and oblong. Also, a good optician can help you when choosing the perfect pair of eyeglasses by following these guidelines. Read the rest of this entry »
